Our Roots & What We Value
Bryce and Ruth McMasters were married after Bryce returned from serving in the Air Force during WWII. Eventually, Bryce attended school to learn the painting trade. Back then, school was necessary to learn how to properly mix and make your own paint. Bryce owned his own company in New York until the mid-70s. He worked on the exterior of several New York City buildings during this time. After living in New York, the McMasters moved to Angleton, TX to be closer to their daughter, Elyse.
Bryce then became the supervisor of painting at Dow Chemical. Bryce’s daughter, Elyse, followed her father’s passion for painting, except she wanted to express hers in an artistic form, such as watercolor paintings. Elyse had a son, Dan Hendrick, who married a woman named Ruth. Together, they had a son named Jackson. Dan was born and raised in Lake Jackson, TX. He started Hendrick Painting in June of 1999. Dan is happy to carry on his grandfather’s trade and his mother’s passion for creating.
