Popcorn Ceiling Removal and Repaint – Marymont, San Antonio, TX

This job involved primarily the popcorn ceiling removal of three rooms as well as the walls of the sitting room. The ceilings were repainted with the same color white as before, and there was a light texture applied before we primed and painted. The texture may not be particularly apparent in all the photos, and frankly, that is a good thing. The main advantage that is immediately perceived when you remove a popcorn ceiling is how bright it makes the entire room seem. As you can see in the before photos, the texture of the popcorn catches a ton of light and castes shadows, instead of refracting that light around the room. When you remove it and replace it with a flat or light texture finish, the difference is very noticeable.

For the ceilings we went with ProMar 200 Zero VOC interior latex and we used Duration Home Interior Acrylic Latex for the interior walls. The latter of which is great for any room in the home as it has built-in stain blocking technology and washes easy.
